It appears that Phil Mickelson is set to return to competition next month. Last week, Mickelson’s agent released Lefty’s plans to compete, which included registration for the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. But that is not all, Mickelson also filed a request to be released from the PGA Tour to compete in the first LIV event in June. So, it appears that Phil is indeed committed to the Saudi Arabia backed Super Golf League. While Mickelson’s Agent stressed in his statement that nothing is set in stone, it certainly looks like Phil is standing by his previous complaints with the PGA Tour, and looking to tee it up elsewhere. Reports have been circulating that Phil has received up to $30 million to play in the Super Golf League, but at the end of the day, that is still conjecture. In any case I’m looking forward to Lefty’s return.
